Patrick Kavanagh Centre - Excellent School Tour Package
The Patrick Kavanagh Centre, located in the poet’s native village of Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan would like to introduce you to our educational tours for Junior, Transition and Leaving Certificate students.
Our education programme brings to life the writings of Patrick Kavanagh through the sights and sounds of Inniskeen, using local history items, maps and a bus tour of the places featured in the poet’s work.
Pre-visit material is sent out to teachers prior to visiting which can be used for class work, ensuring that students make the most of their visit to Kavanagh Country.
This year, the Patrick Kavanagh Centre in association with Matthews Coach Tours have devised a very affordable guided tour package for all students, but particularly those studying Kavanagh’s work for examination.
This package is offered to schools in counties, Cavan, Dublin, Louth, Meath, Monaghan and Westmeath for an all in cost of €20 per student.
Your group’s itinerary is worked out with you in advance to ensure your visit is all you hope it to be. A typical visit takes 2.5 hours, including breaks and comprises the following:
- Collection and return of students to their school
- Guided tour of Kavanagh Country with special emphasis on the poems being studied by the
students
-
